Technique, Compas, Palos and Accompaniment
Foundational Technique: Master the essential tools: rasgueado (rhythmic strumming), picado (scale technique), alzapúa (thumb technique), tremolo, and golpe (percussive taps).
Rhythmic Mastery (Compás): Learn the heartbeat of flamenco. We internalize the rhythmic cycles of each palo (style), from the profound Soleá to the fiery Bulerías, using clapping (palmas) and rhythmic drills until the pulse becomes second nature.
Musical Language & Phrasing: Go beyond notes. You'll learn traditional falsetas (melodic passages) and the art of phrasing, understanding how to speak through the guitar with the same emotion as a flamenco singer.
The Art of Accompaniment: Become a versatile musician. A core part of our teaching is how to support a singer (cante) and dancer (baile), learning the structures, cues, and dynamics that make you an indispensable part of the ensemble.
